Summer Reading Tips
Grade K-1: Read for at least 20mn every day (or have an adult read to you)
Grade 2-3: Read for at least 30mn every day
Grade 4-6: Read at least 1 hour every day
Keep on Reading throughout the summer: real books, and online
- Read independently,
- Listen to an adult reading or listen to an audiotape,
- Read in the community (signs, newspapers, menus, labels...)
- Talk about stories you have read or heard
- Visit your school library website for ideas and access to online reading sites.
- Write every day (journal, notes to family and friends, stories, grocery lists and pictures as stories)

RazKids Read and take quizzes (keeps track of your reading).
Starfall- Literacy and math games for primary students.
LWE Library Discover (scroll down to find e-books and audio-books) and Biblionasium Grade 4-6 (access from Destiny Discover and click on Hamburger menu on top left). Use your school username and password.

- Your public library will have many on display.
- Your teacher will recommend titles when you leave school.
- Your school librarian will have great ideas.
- Read the Battle of the Books titles from last year, and nominees for Sasquatch and Young Reader's Choice for next year's Battle of the Books for 2020-21.
