Natural Leaders
The Natural Leaders is a program developed in 2003 by the Washington Alliance for Better Schools to build relationships with diverse families and to encourage family engagement at school and in the community. Student success in school is highly correlated with the level of family engagement.
Who are Natural Leaders?
They are our volunteers from our parents, family members and guardians who serve as a bridge between families, communities and schools.
Why are they needed?
To represent the diversity of their school communities.
To honor their experiences.
To listen to their voice ensures more equity.
To support partnerships between families, communities and schools.
What do they do?
· Engage in new learning.
· Create events families want.
· Build relationships.
· Plan for a bright future.
