Summer Reading Tips

Grade K-1: Read for at least 20mn every day (or have an adult read to you)

Grade 2-3: Read for at least 30mn every day

Grade 4-6: Read at least 1 hour every day

Keep on Reading throughout the summer: real books, and online

Read independently,
Listen to an adult reading or listen to an audiotape,
Read in the community (signs, newspapers, menus, labels...)
Talk about stories you have read or heard
Visit your school library website for ideas and access to online reading sites.
Write every day (journal, notes to family and friends, stories, grocery lists and pictures as stories)
